WHAG - ABOUT US
Whilst we are beginning to re-open after the Covid lockdowns (Saturday & Wednesday sessions are now back), we are yet to schedule any tutorials or exhibitions. Presently, to maintain Covid safety, attendees are requested to wear face coverings when entering & moving around in the Hall (but not when seated at their tables), & wipe down the table surface at the start & end of the sessions, with the sanitiser provided.
We were established in 1992, & presently have about 50 friendly members,
keen to infect others with the painting bug.
Apart from the approx once-a-month sessions with visiting tutors, the more experienced members of the Group are happy to provide advice, hints & tips.
Members use a variety of media, such as water-colours, acrylics, pastels, pencils, oils, inks,
& a combination of any of the above!
We carry a small stock of spare paints, brushes, pastels & paper, so if you want to experiment,
before putting together your own preferred equipment, you can do so.
WHAG is a proud member of the Society of All Artists (www.saa.co.uk) and the Brentwood Arts Council (brentwoodarts.org.uk).
We meet in the West Horndon Village Hall on Wednesdays (10.00 to 12.30 in the upstairs Small Hall), & Saturdays (10.00 to 12.30 in the downstairs Main Hall).
Annual Membership is presently £12, & each session (tutored or un-tutored) is £3. (Occasionally we have full day workshops, for which the fee is greater, particularly if we organise a lunch, as well!)
Parking - There is a car park adjacent to the hall, but street parking is permitted in Thorndon Avenue (except between 11.00 to 12.00, Monday to Friday)
